Overnight, spanning the dark hours of August 2 into the early morning of August 3, Sherman was battered with precipitation. The sky opened with relentless intensity, delivering an estimated 3.3 inches of water in just a few hours. It was a sudden, extreme deluge that tested the physical limits of the local geography and the resilience of our town's infrastructure.

In the past year alone, Sherman has received an astonishing 54.55 inches of precipitation. For those unfamiliar with meteorological thresholds, that volume of water is nearing the qualification for a true temperate rainforest. Sherman has become exemplary in the sheer amount of moisture it receives from the sky.
