Exciting Children's Activities Coming to Sherman in 2025
As warmer weather approaches, families in Sherman, Connecticut, can look forward to a variety of engaging activities designed for children of all ages. From sports to outdoor adventures, the town is offering an array of programs aimed at fostering active lifestyles and community involvement. Here’s a look at some of the exciting upcoming children’s activities happening in Sherman this spring and summer.
Tiny Tots Soccer at Colonial Field
For young aspiring athletes, Tiny Tots Soccer will be held at Sherman’s Colonial Field in April and May. This program is tailored for preschool-aged children and provides a fun and supportive environment to introduce them to the basics of soccer. With a focus on teamwork, coordination, and fundamental skills, Tiny Tots Soccer encourages early participation in sports while promoting social interaction among young children. Parents and guardians are welcome to watch and cheer on their little ones as they take their first steps into the world of soccer. Children's Pickleball at Volunteer Park
Another exciting opportunity for children this spring is the Children’s Pickleball program, set to take place at Volunteer Park during April and May. Pickleball, a rapidly growing sport that blends elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong, is a fantastic way for kids to improve their agility and hand-eye coordination while having fun. The program will introduce children to the rules and techniques of the game in a friendly and encouraging setting. Whether they are new to the sport or looking to sharpen their skills, participants will benefit from expert instruction and plenty of active playtime. Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 22, 24, & 29 and May 1, 6, & 8 3:45 to 4:45 at Volunteer Park, A minimum of 7 participants needed/Max 16, Equipment is available to borrow, Grades 3-5, $50 for all six sessions
Sherman Summer Camping – A Seasonal Favorite
Perhaps the most anticipated children’s event in Sherman is the annual Sherman Summer Camping program, set to take place in June and August. This beloved tradition offers children the chance to experience the joys of summer in a natural setting. With activities ranging from hiking and swimming to arts and crafts, the camp provides an immersive outdoor experience where kids can develop independence, build friendships, and create lasting memories. The program emphasizes both recreation and education, with a focus on environmental awareness and appreciation of nature. Tentative Dates: June 23 to August 1 (subject to change), 1,2, and 6 weeks options, 9:00 AM - 1:45 PM, Offering a wide range of activities for children ages 4-13, REGISTRATION BEGINS IN MAY
